Remote Access Service (RAS)
Create a virtual path to the internet.
My Network Places -> Properties -> Make New Connection:
Option:
1) Dial-up to private network (Connect using my phone line (modem or ISDN))
- need to specify the phone number (425-522-9876)
- Use dialing rule (local and long distance dial)
- Connectivity available (for all users or only for myself)
2) Dial-up to the Internet
3) Connect to a private network through the Internet (Create a VPN connect or tunnel through the Internet)
- specify the IP address or Domain name (10.0.1.124)
4) Accept incoming connections (Let other computers connect to mine by phone line, the internet, or direct cable)
5) Connect directly to another computer (Connect using my serial, parallel, or infrared port.)

PRINTING TERMINOLOGY
Printer - software that controls the print job and print device.
Print Device - Machine that produces the printed hard copy.
Local Printer - Print device is connected to local port (LPT, USB, ECD, TCP/IP)
Network Printer - Print device connected to a print server.

Print device can be set up as a network or local printer:
- For Local: use the TCP/IP local port to connect.
- For Network: the print server uses TCP/IP to connect and share it and everyone print to the share printer.
