Wed 10-03-01 will install one more: one is for domain and the other is for workgroup.
To enter the following:
- IP address -> 10.0.1.17
- Subnet -> 255.255.255.0
- Default Gateway -> 10.0.1.1
- DNS Server -> 168.156.112.11
Click on start -> settings -> control panel -> Network and Dial-up Connections -> Local Area Connection -> Properties -> TCP/IC -> Propeties -> Use the following address then enter the IP address, etc.

To change to domain
Right click on my computer.
click on network identification
click on properties
Select Domain button
Input the user name (1st 3 letter of Last and 1st 3 letter of first name)
Password should be password (this is case sensitive)
Computer will reboot and then you need to log on the net2001 with the new username and password

MMC Microsoft Management Console
* is a power tool the let you have a flexibility to create a snap in for any tools.
* Purpose is simplify administration.
* Saved console with .msc extesion

Two Modes of MMC:

1- Author Mode:
-full access mode
-add snap-ins
-remove snap-ins
-add windows
-remove windows
-use snap-ins

2- User Mode
- Use snap-ins

Accessing the MMC:

Click on Start -> Run
- Type MMC
- Hit enter and a applet of console will open

To add snap-in:
At the console applet click on console -> click on add/remove snap-in -> click on add tab will open another dialog box with all the features that can be seclect to add.
Select the feature that will be add then hit ok.
Click on Console and click on save as and enter the file name to save.

To get to Contro Panel: click on start -> settings -> control panel or right click on my computer -> explore and seclect control panel.
- add/remove hardware to add or remove hardware (ie. scanner, camera...)
- regional setting for setting the time and date if the computer is travel to another country.

Even viewer: application log.
